Overview:
· Following performances at Glastonbury, Latitude and a headline slot at End Of The Road, the one-time Mercury nominee, critically-celebrated English troubadour Ed Harcourt begins a new chapter of his career with a mini album of tracks that are somewhat darker than weve heard from him before.
· Theres an air of malevolence to these tracks. Flickers of
Tom Waits, glimmers of James Blake and a smidgeon of Nine Inch Nails angelic moments, plus some Eels growl and a bit of Becks rummaging through hip hop beats.
· Love Is A Minor Key was something Ed, in his day job as
a gun for hire, wrote for Ren Hervieu. Love Is A Melody
featured on her debut album. Ed also wrote and produced
the forthcoming Sophie Ellis-Bextor album.
· Guest vocalists Kathryn Williams and Megan Washington
appear on the record.
· Artwork photography by Steve Gullick.
· Released on the label run by the editor of Drowned in
Sound.
· Time Of Dust is now being made available on vinyl.
